The Canadian Tamil Medical Association (CTMA) is a Canadian registered charity of health care professionals, scientists, and scholars of Tamil descent. This volunteer organization was founded in 1998. Over the years, our organization has embarked on several medical, dental, and humanitarian projects to affected communities in Sri Lanka and elsewhere. Notably, a team of CTMA physicians, dentists and nurses visited Sri Lanka on medical relief missions in 2003 and 2004 during the height of the civil conflict. Two more medical teams were sent in early 2005 for the tsunami affected Eastern region of Sri Lanka.

We have also funded several health care projects in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. CTMA is committed to improving health care education with yearly health forums and community wellness programs.
